Yes. After the initial page load, MAPb2 tools work without an internet connection. Your work is automatically saved to your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) so you can continue editing even without connectivity. When you come back online, everything is already saved on your device.
All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Your maps, diagrams, and sketches never leave your device. This means your data is 100% private by design. The trade-off is that data is tied to your browser - if you clear your browser data, your saved work will be removed. We recommend exporting important maps regularly.
MAPb2 supports a wide range of export formats: PNG (high-resolution images), SVG (scalable vector graphics), PDF (print-ready documents), JSON (full data backup and portability), and Markdown (structured text). The Print Optimizer tool also lets you create multi-page, fit-to-page, and black-and-white print layouts.
Yes. MAPb2 has full dark mode support across all tools and pages. Click the sun/moon icon in the header to toggle between light and dark themes. Your preference is saved locally and persists across sessions.
The Pro plan ($4.99/month) unlocks 207 additional tools beyond the free Mind Map Builder. No account is needed for the Mind Map Builder - just open it and start creating. An account is only required for the Pro plan to manage your subscription and access the 207 additional Pro tools.
Yes. MAPb2 is fully responsive and works on phones and tablets. The canvas tools support touch gestures including pinch-to-zoom, two-finger panning, and tap-to-select. For the best experience with complex maps, we recommend a tablet or desktop screen.
MAPb2 offers several import options. The "Markdown to Map" tool converts markdown files into visual mind maps. The "Text to Mind Map" tool converts indented text into maps. You can also import JSON files that were previously exported from MAPb2. Pro users can additionally use the Map Merger to combine imported maps with existing ones.
MAPb2 may perform brief maintenance updates typically between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM US Eastern Time (10:00–11:00 UTC), lasting approximately 5–10 minutes. During this window, the service may be briefly disrupted. When a new version is deployed, you will see a notification banner at the top of the page - simply click "Refresh" when you are ready. MAPb2 will never auto-refresh while you are working. Since all tools run locally in your browser, any work in progress is preserved on your device.
